FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I bring to my appointment?
Most of the time, just bring yourself and a payment method. If you have been referred by a GP or Specialist please bring any referral documents you may have or an ACC claim number if you already have one. Try and dress appropriately where able - for example, if you have a knee injury try not to wear tight jeans which make it difficult to see and move the knee

What do I do when I get there?
As Richard is working from a private gym, the main door cannot stay open at all times - this is to keep non-members from accessing the gym. When you arrive for your appointment, please ring the doorbell at the door then either wait in your car or wait outside the door to Richard's room, Richard will come and get you when it is time for your appointment.

Who can come to my appointment?
Anyone is welcome. You as the patient are the priority so if you feel more comfortable with a support person or if you need to bring your kids to an appointment, there's no problem with that.

What will happen during my appointment?
For your first appointment there will be some paperwork to complete so please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time. Richard always starts by asking questions about your injury; how it happened, how long ago, type of pain etc. He will then assess certain movements and activities as well as doing physical tests to better understand your injury. Treatment varies depending on the injury. There may be some hands on treatment such as massage or simply some exercises shown to start working on at home. You as the patient are in control so if you're not comfortable with anything then Richard will not continue with that. He will always ask for consent before commencing any treatment.

I'm not a gym member - can I still see you?
YES! Just because Richard is working from a gym it does not mean only gym members can see him - anyone can book an appointment with Richard.

What do I do if I can't make it?
There is a strict cancellation policy of 2 hours. This means, if you give Richard less than 2 hours notice of cancelling your appointment (or just don't turn up) you will be charged the full amount for your appointment. So if you know you can't make your appointment please let Richard know as soon as you can.
